At the Houghton Jones Neighborhood Association (HJNA), we are committed to supporting the well-being of our community—and that includes making space for real conversations about the unique health challenges women face. That’s why we’re proud to host the Women’s Health Talk Forum on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 5:00 PM right here at our center located at 1708 Johnson Street in Saginaw, Michigan.

This special evening is designed to inform, uplift, and connect women from all walks of life. Whether you’re looking to take charge of your health, support a loved one, or simply become more informed, this forum will provide knowledge, resources, and sisterhood.

A Dynamic Panel of Voices

We’re honored to welcome a powerful group of women to lead our discussion:

Rosalind Williams, FNP-BC – A Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner with a deep passion for preventative care and empowering patients through education. Rosalind will share insight into heart health and how women can be proactive in protecting their cardiovascular wellness.

Jessica Patman – Founder of Live It Through, a community-focused organization dedicated to supporting individuals battling cancer. Jessica brings personal and professional insight into the journey of breast cancer awareness and advocacy.

Sharia Woods – A dedicated advocate and ovarian cancer survivor, Sharia’s mission is to raise awareness and offer support to women navigating ovarian cancer. Her story of resilience is sure to inspire and inform.

What We’ll Cover

Our forum will offer an open, respectful environment to discuss:

Heart Health: Learn the risk factors, symptoms often overlooked in women, and everyday habits that can strengthen your heart.

Ovarian Cancer: Understand the warning signs and challenges associated with diagnosis and treatment.

Breast Cancer: Gain insight into early detection, treatment options, and the power of community support.

Self-Care: Explore ways to prioritize your mental, emotional, and physical well-being amid life’s many demands.

Why This Forum Matters

Too often, women prioritize the needs of others while their own health takes a back seat. The Women’s Health Talk Forum is about shifting that narrative. It’s about coming together to say: your health matters, your story matters, and your life matters.

You’ll walk away with more than just information—you’ll leave with connection, encouragement, and the reminder that you’re not alone on your journey.
