Summer Employment

Learn and Earn Summer Youth Worker

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to fill our Learn and Earn Summer Youth Worker positions!

Under the supervision of the Building Manager or designee:

  • Youth aged 14-17
  • Part-time summer employment spanning six weeks, starting from June 17, 2024
  • Approximate commitment of 15 hours per week
  • Earn $9 per hour while gaining valuable experience.

Throughout the program youth will engage in a range of activities, including:

  • Working in HJ community gardens
  • Assisting in the HJ summer enrichment camp
  • Participating in related workshops and discussions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and executing specific tasks
  • Organizing materials as needed
  • Assisting in supervising camp participants

The position offers a dynamic working environment, with activities scheduled both indoors and outdoors depending on the task at hand. To apply, interested candidates are required to complete and submit the application form along with a cover letter highlighting their best qualities and at least one letter of recommendation from a non-family member.
